I always knew that I wanted a different kind of practice.
I wanted a practice that made a real difference in people’s lives. Few things in life are more important than protecting loved ones. When you hire an estate planning attorney, you are counting on a professional you don’t really know to help you protect what matters most to you in this world. We get that. At Legacy Counsel, we are committed to helping you make the very best decisions for your family based on your values and unique goals.
We seek to build lasting relationships.
At Legacy Counsel, we see estate planning as the beginning of the relationship, rather than a one-time event. Signing your planning documents is when the relationship really begins. We stick with you to periodically review your plan and make sure that it adapts and grows with you and your family.
I am all about the details.
Years ago, my parents went to a traditional estate planning practice in their hometown. They owned quite a lot of real estate and paid a lawyer over $20,000 to create an estate plan that included a trust. I later discovered that NONE of their properties had ever been properly re-titled into the name of their trust. Thankfully, both my parents were still living and in good health when I made this discovery. But had something happened to them earlier, their plan would have totally failed despite their best efforts to protect me and my six siblings. At Legacy Counsel, we provide detailed instructions on transferring assets into your trust, and we’ll continue providing guidance until the job gets done! If you’re one of those busy families that just doesn’t have the time, we can even handle all of the trust funding for you.
Your family is unique, and you need a unique plan designed to suit you.
I’m a wife, mom, and step-mom. Being part of a blended family has brought a special awareness that estate planning is highly specific to the unique circumstances of each family. You want to care for the people you love the most while minimizing the potential for conflict later. You want to make decisions that strengthen – not tear apart – family bonds. We can help you achieve that goal.
I look forward to working with you.
